Our History
Ryan Vlaco founded RYCO in 2004, drawing inspiration from his childhood experiences in the industry, where his father was the dedicated owner of K.R. Vlaco & Sons. After completing high school, Ryan briefly worked as an equipment operator before deciding to establish his own business. The company initially focused on site work. The Sand and Gravel division soon followed, delivering high-quality materials for commercial sales and dependable trucking services throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
In 2021, the company expanded its Heavy Haul division, significantly enhancing our fleet to offer lowbed and flatbed transportation of heavy equipment, cargo, and construction materials. Further strengthening our capabilities, in 2023, RYCO acquired Emerald Excavating and Emerald Landscape Supply. This acquisition has positioned RYCO as a leader in site development, benefiting from Emerald’s expertise and strong reputation.
RYCO’s formula for success is straightforward — work hard, uphold integrity, simplify processes for customers, and prioritize the needs of both our customers and our staff. To our customers, our approach is simple: say yes, find a solution, and deliver. Despite growing to over 125 employees, we maintain the essence of a small business and are committed to preserving this philosophy. Our team is comprised of passionate, professional, and dedicated employees. We recognize the importance of investing in technology to stay ahead of the curve, building and maintaining strong business relationships, and offering efficient solutions that benefit our end users—our valued customers.
